| On this page you will find: Group and Home Workout Tips: Apply to any workout you already do! Bring your physical and spiritual fitness together in one purpose, to strengthen and grow your spiritual “health” as you strengthen your physical body, equipping yourself fully to serve the Lord! There is a spiritual battle we fight daily, and we are affected in many areas of our life, in our thinking, in our actions, in our eating and exercise decisions to name a few. The enemy is here to seek and destroy us, in our minds, bodies and spirits! Our plan is to bring together our minds, bodies and spirits in praise and worship to the Lord, knocking down barriers and becoming aware of where the enemy is attacking so we can fight back. This workout is designed to not only exercise and strengthen your physical body, but also to exercise and strengthen your spiritual body and increase your faith. Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of each session:
Go at your own pace! Don’t PUSH too hard, but be challenged. In this busy world, it is hard to find time with God and it is hard to find time to exercise. We have developed a workout program that can be done in less than 25 minutes and can also be used as a worship and prayer time with God simultaneously. This is also a good time to memorize scripture, pick one per workout, as you say scripture with your mouth, it is a form of the “perfect prayer”- speaking God’s Word! We recommend that you also include some bible reading at the end of each workout, even if you only have a few minutes, God’s Word is a powerful tool you can benefit from everyday, equipping you for the battle! |

Heath & Eating Tips - Do it God's Way In this section are 11 simple "tips" that I have come up with through the years as I have tried many types of eating plans. I have come to the conclusion that each of us requires our own unique diet and that only God can truly direct the "perfect" routine for each individual. The Bible tells us a lot about eating and I invite you seek the Scriptures for your own life. In 1 Corinthians 10:23 it says that "Everything is permissible"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible"—but not everything is constructive." This is said after a discussion of whether people should eat meat that had been sacrificed to idols. I have applied this Scripture in my own life as I let God direct me on the eating pattern that is "beneficial and constructive" to my own personal health. Another Scripture that has helped me in my quest to figure out what foods I should eat is 1 Timothy 4:3-5. We see that there is nothing that is wrong to eat when we thank God for it in prayers. The only “truth” for you and your health decisions is what God is telling you --- through His Word and through other people…. Just keep asking Him in each decision and ENJOY all that you do! 1 Timothy: Verse 3 They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. 4For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer. So, we see that God gives us choice and freedom in our health and that He wants us to seek Him in all of our decisions, but the most important fact that you need to keep most foremost in your mind and heart is that God does delight in you just the way you are. He created you and your body the way it is with a magnificent plan and purpose and He loves you no matter what choices you make! Zephaniah 3:17 “The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing." Heath & Eating Tips 1. Veggies are FREE! Eat all you want, you don’t have to count calories. Raw preferably but cooked is good also. You can make low fat dressings that are yummy and homemade hummus (I have an awesome recipe) can really add some nice flavor to them. 2. Eat 1 apple a day. This really works in not only helping us trim our figures but it also helps to keep our bodily functions regular, if you know what I mean! Don’t ask me why this works, I just know it does! 3. Eat lots of fruit, almost FREE like veggies, just need to watch sugar intake. 4. Choose whole grains and avoid white flour. Again, this gives you more fiber just as with veggies, fruits and many legumes (beans). 5. WHAT you eat is more important than how MUCH! If you choose low fat, low calorie, high fiber foods, you could virtually eat all day long and not worry! 6. Avoid sugars and high fat foods, and when you just have to have a treat, do it! Have a small to moderate serving and enjoy it without guilt – savor every bite and thank the Lord for such a wonderful treat! 7. Eating boosts your metabolism, it “turns on the fire” in your digestion system. 8. Not eating slows down your metabolism. Your body will automatically store fat since it won’t know when it’s getting the next meal. When we eat a lot our body gets used to using up what we give it, when we stop eating our body goes into defense mode. God really made our bodies very wonderful, unique and efficient, but today’s dieting craze really messes up God’s great plan for our bodies. 9. I suggest that you do strength work one day, and aerobic the next. I suggest doing the “Tent flow series” which we do in the DVD workout (see product page) Do something you enjoy. 10. Take time to rest. Our bodies do need time to regenerate, so take at least 1-2 days off a week of your structured workouts but stay active every day! 11. Taking a walk while praying can give you a physical and spiritual boost at the same time. |
