 Psalm 5:3   Pray and wait expectantly!

In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice;
       in the morning I lay my requests before you
       and wait in expectation.

When we start the day focusing on God, praising Him and giving our requests to Him, then we wait expectantly for we know He will answer our prayers.  We can be persistent in our prayers. Ask and it will be given, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened.

Do you believe God hears and answers your prayers?  As you wait for answer to your prayers, wait with the expectation of seeing God do something great.  Be watchful though, for God to accomplish the task we have requested, there are many other things that He must work in our hearts before our request can be answered to the completion only God is satisfied with.  His answers are so much bigger than our finite minds can perceive to even ask.

So, take your prayers and petitions to God with thanksgiving, present your every request to God and while you wait for answers, the peace that passes all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.  There's nothing better than waiting for answers in His peace and presence!

You will see answers unfolding immediately but may or not see the fruition today, tomorrow or years from now.  Don't ever give up, but keep praying!  God loves you and wants to hear from you today.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:6-7 (New International Version)

 "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  Luke 11:9 (New International Version)

However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven."  Luke 10:20 (New International Version)

Prayer is not about us telling God what to do, but is about relationship with Him.... knowing His heart for us and sharing in His love.  He will guide you in your prayers!  Rejoice that you belong to Him!

For further reflection, this was submitted from Barbara Garcia:

The purpose of prayer is not to change God, but to change us.  Sincere prayer reveals God to us - as we take a deep breath, with a tear in our heart, we close our eyes and invoke Him, "Our Father!"

Do you realize the heavens pause when we pray.  One can feel the gentle wind of His demanding voice as His brow wrinkles in earnestness, and He whispers, "Shhhhh, my child is speaking!"

This should encourage us to talk to Him about every area of our life.  Being in the presence of His holiness causes us to see and confess our sins to Him.  "Your will be done," places our will in second place to His.  Realize that as we pray He answers and provides us with "our daily bread" and "forgives us our sins" and "leads us not into temptation".

Little one, don't you know that God is committed to care for YOU!  We aren't wrestling crumbs out of a reluctant hand, but rather confessing the bounty of a generous hand, ready to give abundantly more than we could ever ask for.  The essence of prayer is really an affirmation of the Father's care!  By the time we finish praying we have been comforted by our Father, conformed to His nature, consumed by His presence, taught by our Teacher, convicted by His character as we are made aware of His power, and then gratified by His attention in answering our prayers.     NOTE:  Take courage, your life is His priority!
