Psalm 86:11-13 Praising God brings health to our hearts, minds and bodies

Read all of Psalm 86, then focus on verses 11-13.

Psalm 86:11-13  Teach me your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to your truth! Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor you. With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God.  I will give glory to your name forever, for your love for me is very great. You have rescued me from the depths of death (Sheol).  NLT

This is a Psalm of praise, and starting at verse 14, David speaks of those who rise up against him.  As you declare this Psalm for your life, and as you declare it to the Lord, remember that God will put the enemy of illness, disease and death to shame (verse 17). Put Satan’s name in the place of the insolent, arrogant, proud (verse 14, wording will depend on which translation you are reading) men who seek your life (soul KJV) and remember God’s unfailing love and mercy for you.  He is your strength and He does save us even from death!  Let Him be your help and comfort (verse 17).

Disease is an affliction of the enemy- it is not God’s will in any case.  LIFE is His will.  We must make a choice to fight the enemy, but with God’s strength, not ours!  We do this by totally submitting and surrendering EVERYTHING to the Lord.  EVERY fear, doubt, thought … our mind (emotions, will, and intellect), our heart (spirit) and our body.
